Dresden Elbland

Enjoy the Saxon way of life

The Sächsischer Weinwanderweg (‘Saxon Wine Trail’) hiking path boasts picturesque vineyards. From Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen to the baroque Moritzburg Castle, vast woodlands, romantic gullies and river landscapes all provide ideal places for a stroll. The trail on both sides of the Elbe River is lined with wineries, castles, gentle little streams and watermills, rare plants, animals and rocks. Discover the Dresden Elbeland region – on foot, by bike, on the narrow-gauge railway, or on the deck of an ancient paddle steamer. And at the end of the day, stop by a traditional Saxon pub to enjoy a good regional drop, great conversation and hearty food. Nature and pleasure in perfect harmony.
